Co-Founder, Executive Director

Eric is the Executive Director at New Harbor, and is responsible for overseeing the operations of New Harbor and ensuring its activities align with New Harbor’s mission and values. Eric received his bachelor’s degree from Union College and completed a dual-degree , JD and an MBA in Healthcare Management, program at Albany Law School and Clarkson University, where he graduated summa cum laude. Eric began his legal career at a large law firm based in Upstate New York, where he focused on healthcare law and advising various behavioral and health and human services treatment providers. Eric also serves on the Board of Directors for Friends of Recovery New York, and has had his story featured in Men’s Health Magazine.

Justin Cambria LICSW

Co-Founder, Director of Clinical Outreach

Justin is the Director of Clinical Outreach at New Harbor Behavioral Healthcare. He began his work in behavioral health through his personal recovery journey, which began in 2009. He is a passionate believer in holistic healing and many paths to recovery. Justin has worked for a decade as a therapist, family coach, case manager, and clinical outreach director. He has developed extensive experience in care planning and advising for individuals and family systems facing all sorts of challenges in mental health and substance use, and maintains relationships with organizations and practitioners throughout the country.  Justin earned a dual Masters in Clinical Social Work and Masters in Business Administration from Boston College, and a Bachelors from Middlebury College. He is also an RYT-200 certified yoga instructor.

Josh Towbin LICSW

Clinical Director

Josh is a seasoned clinical social worker and is the Clinical Director at New Harbor Behavioral Healthcare. Josh has over 10 years of broad experience serving young people with mental health and substance use challenges, and is particularly talented and experienced in supporting the parents of young people with these challenges. Clinically, Josh is deeply grounded in both motivational interviewing and cognitive behavioral therapy. He has a passion for research and is focused on applying research and evidence supported interventions with clients and their families. Josh is a graduate of the Boston College School of Social Work.

Destinee Lucier LCSW

Destinee Lucier LCSW

Program Director

Destinee is the program director at New Harbor, overseeing and supervising day-to-day clinical activities in the facility. She is a patient centered clinician that has a passion for mental health treatment. She has experience with working with diverse populations and cultures over the years. Her experience includes Intensive-In-Home Family therapy, Adolescent Detox, and as Program Director for a Partial Hospitalization and Intensive Outpatient Program. She received her bachelors in Criminal Justice and Pre Law at Anna Maria College and her Masters in Clinical Social Work at Simmons University. Destinee enjoys creating and implementing narrative based group therapy as well as assisting the patient’s in finding their own path to a healthy and happy life. She believes recovery is a multifaceted process that encompasses the mind, body, and soul.

Isabella Denio-Miller

Isabella Denio-Miller

Director of Admissions

Isabella is the Director of Admissions at New Harbor, managing all aspects of the journey families take to enter our programs. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychological Science from Fitchburg State University. Since graduating, she has worked extensively in community-based mental health settings, supporting individuals across the lifespan from children and adolescents to adults and older adults. Currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling at Merrimack College, she also serves as a graduate-level counseling intern, serving clients in individual and group therapy. Driven by a genuine passion for helping others, Isabella believes in the power of empathy, connection, and access to care as key components to healing and growth. 

Omar Shah MD

Omar Shah MD

Medical Director

Dr. Shah is a board certified psychiatrist treating patients of all ages, with a particular interest in serving adolescents. Dr. Shah is full-time faculty at the Harvard Medical School and as an Attending Physician at Boston Children’s Hospital. He is a Ruth Fox Scholar of the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) and a recipient of the American Academy of Addiction Psychiatry (AAAP) John Renner Award. He served as the Vice Chair of the American Psychiatric Association (APA) Leadership Fellowship and was recently awarded the APA Resident Recognition Award.

Stephanie Schiavo MS

Primary Therapist

Stephanie Schiavo received her Masters of Science in Counseling Psychology at Northeastern University in May of 2024 prior to starting at New Harbor Behavioral Healthcare. She interned in a residential and partial setting serving clients with eating disorders during her masters program. Stephanie has experience working with clients with depression, anxiety, OCD, eating disorders, disabilities, and clients with HIV. She is passionate about helping clients to overcome their challenges and live lives of purpose and meaning.
Nicole Willey MA

Nicole Willey MA

Primary Therapist

Nicole is a graduate of the Boston College Masters in Mental Health Counseling program who has a strong interest in working with teens struggling with depression, anxiety, and related issues. Nicole also has experience working with those impacted by traumatic experiences, OCD, and self-harm. Previously, Nicole interned in a college counseling center, and she has previous professional experience working with children on the autism spectrum. She is deeply passionate about supporting young people to find true healing.

Liza Dennis MA

Art Therapist

Liza feels that art therapy is for everyone. She earned her Master’s degree in Art Therapy from Lesley University and has a deep passion for helping individuals discover their voice through creative expression. Her therapeutic approach focuses on using art as a tool for self-awareness and self-actualization, allowing clients to explore and process emotions that might be difficult or even impossible to verbalize. She believes that through self-expression, people can tap into deeper layers of their experience and begin to feel their way through life’s challenges. She utilizes art materials to foster a safe space where talking is not always necessary—feeling is. She supports her clients on their journey toward emotional well-being, helping them build resilience, and nurturing a sense of empowerment through the transformative power of creativity.

Isabelle Ream MSW

Isabelle Ream MSW

Primary Therapist

Isabelle graduated with her Master’s in Social Work from Boston College with a strong interest in supporting individuals struggling with substance use and emotional dysregulation. She has experience interning with Veterans with PTSD and substance use disorders and adolescents in high school settings. Isabelle also has a background working with children on the autism spectrum, behavioral health patients in the emergency room, and the elderly in the nursing home, which has deepened her understanding of diverse emotional and behavioral needs. Her clinical approach is rooted in empathy, connection, and helping individuals build practical skills for lasting change. Isabelle is passionate about walking alongside clients in their healing journeys with curiosity, compassion, and respect.

Case Manager

Ian is a Behavioral Health Technician and Case Manager at New Harbor. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Chapman University in 2022. He is a certified embodied breathwork facilitator with a passion for all things mindfulness. Ian is currently a masters student at the Boston College School of Social Work.

Chief Happiness Officer

In his role as Chief Happiness Officer, Nash employs his vast skills as a “good boy” to impart happiness to clients, staff, delivery people, and really anyone else who visits New Harbor. It’s never a bad day when this fellow is around – and that’s most days!
Laura Henry Kuper MA

Laura Henry Kuper MA

Primary Therapist

Laura is an individual, family, and group therapist who is happy to be part of the New Harbor team. She received her Master’s Degree from Cambridge College School of Counseling and Psychology, with a clinical focus in Trauma Studies and Addictions counseling, and also holds a certificate in Family Systems Therapy. Since graduating, Laura has worked with adults, children, and families in the Boston area in a variety of clinical settings, including schools, homes, and community-based health centers, and has developed a special interest in working with teens struggling with depression, anxiety, substance use disorders, and trauma. As a dedicated person-centered therapist, Laura pulls from a variety of modalities using a tailored approach to support clients in finding meaning, connection, and healing on their own terms.
Shanel Turansky MA

Shanel Turansky MA

Group Therapist

Shanel Turransky is a Clinical PsyD student with a concentration in Forensic Psychology at William James College in Newton, MA. Shanel received her Master of Art (MA) from William James College in 2023. Shanel graduated from Boston College in 2021 with a Bachelor of Science (BS) in psychology with a concentration in clinical psychology. Shanel’s clinical background has provided her extensive experience in working with child, adolescent, and adult clients who struggle with anxiety, depression, OCD, co-occurring disorders, and a range of externalizing behaviors. She has worked with individuals with serious mental illness and extensive trauma histories. Her ability to work with clients who experience acute symptoms has allowed her to assess and treat patients while collaborating with clients’ support systems. Her prior experience in individual, group, school, and family modalities allows her to address her clients’ presenting issues from a holistic perspective.
